AvtoVAZ asked the authorities of the Samara region for permission to resume production, despite the days off announced the day before. They operate from March 28 to April 30 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
- According to Interfax, AvtoVAZ promises to comply with all sanitary standards and ensure the safety of its employees. The press service of the government of the Samara region reported that the company's request is still being considered and a final decision on it has not yet been made.
- In March, two cases of coronavirus infection were detected at the Togliatti enterprise. After that, 29 employees who had contact with the sick were quarantined. To prevent the spread of infection, the entire enterprise was disinfected.
- After the official introduction of the non-working day regime in Russia, only grocery stores and factories producing essential goods continue to function. Regional authorities are allowed to impose additional restrictions, including fining drivers and evacuating cars to impound parking lots.
