In February 2020, 67.7 thousand new passenger cars with automatic transmissions were sold in Russia: a classic "automatic", a variator and robotic transmissions. This is 3.4% more than a year earlier, and the share of such machines in the market reached 60.4% (plus 3 percentage points). We chose the most popular models.
The statistics do not include sales of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mini and Smart: since 2020, manufacturers have changed the frequency of summing up sales from monthly to quarterly.

Lad dealers sold 2,435 vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions in February, a third more than a year ago. In the total sales of the brand, the share of such cars exceeded 10% (plus 3 points).
The most popular two-pedal model is Lad-Vesta: sales almost doubled, to 1346 units, and the share reached 16.6% (plus 7.7 points). LadGrant was chosen by 733 buyers on the “machine” (minus 29.6%), the share - 7.7% (minus 2.2 points). Xray with automatic transmission was bought by 356 people (plus 212%), the share - 23.1% (plus 17.2 points).
The classic “automatic” remains the favorite type of transmission among Russians: in 2020, 75.5% of buyers chose it. The CVT accounts for 16.9% of cars, the remaining 7.6% are cars with a "robot". However, over the year, the share of “automatic machines” on the market decreased by 6.9%, while that of variators and “robots” increased by 3.8 and 3.1%, respectively.
In just 2 months, 123.6 thousand (minus 9.2%) new "cars" with automatic transmission were sold in Russia - this is 61.3% of the total sales volume. Their share increased by 17.7%.
