Video: Car Cinemas Have A New Lease On Life - Due To Coronavirus

In the United States, due to the closure of conventional cinemas in quarantine caused by the coronavirus pandemic, car cinemas are experiencing a boom in popularity, which allow adhering to social distancing rules. This was reported by the New York Times.
- Open-air car cinemas first appeared in the 1930s and declined in popularity twenty years later. Since then, in the United States, the number of venues for watching movies from your own car has decreased from 5,000 to 305. Usually such cinemas are open only in the summer, but in the current situation, many of them have already opened, and ticket sales have at least doubled.
- For safety reasons, tickets to car cinemas are only sold online or by phone. At the entrance, employees wear special gloves and regularly disinfect public places.
- Car cinemas are new to young drivers, but are rapidly gaining popularity. For example, 20-year-old Bailey Nichols, about whom the New York Time writes, was very surprised to learn that the sound of the film is transmitted through the car's audio system - all you need to do is tune the radio to the desired frequency.
-
True, some car cinema owners believe that the current popularity is temporary. They are afraid that after the quarantine is lifted, everyone will again start going to regular cinemas and forget about watching movies in the open air.
