Auction house RM Sotheby's will hold an auction in May for the sale of a 1970 police Subaru 360. The three-meter hatchback worked as a patrol car in New Zealand.

-
The Subaru 360 traveled 7,466 miles (12,015 kilometers) in its entire life and retained its full uniform - the original black and white paintwork, special signals with a siren on the roof and a special search light. The car comes with two vintage New Zealand police caps.
- The car up for auction is powered by a standard 356cc twin-cylinder engine with just 25 hp, mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Auctioneers warn future buyers that it is unlikely that they will be able to catch even one reckless driver on the hatchback.
The Subaru 360 was introduced in 1958, and it became the first production car model of the Japanese brand. The hatchback was produced until 1971 with two- and three-door bodies, as well as with a folding fabric roof. A total of 392 thousand copies were produced.
