Video: A 38-year-old American Tried To Buy Out His Father's Old VW. And & Nbsp; At & Nbsp; It Turned Out
Volkswagen spoke about a resident of Minnesota who had been waiting 38 years for the opportunity to buy his father's old car, a 1967 VW Type 3. Having achieved her goal, Lynn Pfenning completely restored the car.
Lynn's father, Marvin Pfenning, bought a new Volkswagen Type 3 to replace the crashed Beetle. He drove the car every day until the mid-1970s, and then sold it to a local farmer. He, in turn, passed it on to his son. Since then, Volkswagen has been used to transport animals and tools.
- Once every five years, Lynn visited his father's car and tried to buy it back. However, the owner of the Type 3, for unknown reasons, refused to sell the old VW every time. After the hatchback's 1.6-liter engine caught fire, the car spent some time in the barn. Only in 2013, Pfenning was able to persuade the owner and buy the three-door.
- The restoration of the car included the replacement of all rusty parts, painting in a new color, overhaul of the engine with a bore up to 1.8 liters and other minor changes. All the work took five years and $ 40,000 (3.2 million rubles).
- After the restoration of the car, Marvin and Lynn Pfenning attend various car festivals on the Volkswagen Type 3 and just drive for pleasure. They no longer want to part with the car.
