  • According to The Salt Lake Tribune, the court found that Diesel Brothers made illegal changes in the design of diesel engines and worsened their environmental friendliness. The tuners openly offered services to remove particulate filters and exhaust gas recirculation systems, installing deceptive devices in their place.

  • Of the total amount of the fine, the firm must donate $ 90,000 (6.5 million rubles) to funds dedicated to environmental restoration in Utah. The remaining amount will go to the US federal treasury. According to court documents, management will not be able to avoid payment even after bankruptcy.
  • In addition to the large fine, Diesel Brothers is prohibited from modifying diesel engines using the previous methods and from selling cars with “dirty” exhaust. Another violation will be regarded as contempt of court, and then the firm will face new lawsuits.
