Part of the movable property of the Russian Ford factories, which produced passenger models, will be put up for auction at the end of March. The agreement on holding the auction was signed between Ford Motor Company and the Russian Auction House (AHR), Kommersant reports.
A total of 11 lots from factories in Vsevolozhsk, Naberezhnye Chelny and Elabuga were put up for auction. Their total starting price is 9.2 million rubles. The property includes mobile loading ramps, car lifts, welding robots, hand tools, a windshield punch press and towed carts. The cost of lots is from 20 thousand rubles to 4.2 million. The auction will take place on March 27th. Assembly lines will be auctioned later.
The Ford Sollers JV announced the withdrawal from the Russian market of the passenger division of Ford and the end of production of passenger cars at local factories in the spring of 2019. Two models were assembled in Vsevolozhsk - Focus and Mondeo. The production of Fiest and EcoSport was launched in Naberezhnye Chelny. The joint venture enterprise in Elabuga (Republic of Tatarstan) produced gasoline engines for Fiesta, Focus and EcoSport. This facility was later modernized and now assembles commercial Ford Transit models.
