McLaren has released a more powerful and lighter version of the 720S supercar, called the 765LT. A total of 765 such cars will be produced.

  • The new coupe turned out to be 80 kilograms lighter than the base model: the "dry" weight of the McLaren 765LT is 1229 kilograms. The weight was reduced due to the widespread use of carbon parts. The front license plate frame, splitter, both bumpers, sill skirts and diffuser are made of carbon fiber. To reduce weight, the supercar also got thinner glass, forged wheels and a titanium exhaust system. In some markets, the version will be offered without trims for additional weight savings.

  • McLaren 765LT is equipped with a modified version of the 720S engine - a V-shaped turbocharged "eight" 4.0 with a "dry" sump (unit index M840T). However, the engine of the novelty received new, forged pistons, as well as a three-layer cylinder head gasket, like the McLaren Senna engine. Plus, the unit was equipped with a new control unit. Due to all the alterations, the output increased from 720 to 765 horsepower.
  • The gearbox was also reconfigured: it began to shift 15 percent faster. Because of this, the McLaren 765LT takes 2.8 seconds to accelerate from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour, and 7.2 seconds to 200 kilometers.
  • The chassis of the supercar has also undergone improvements. So, the front track became six millimeters wider, and the front ground clearance decreased by five millimeters (the rear remained the same). At the front, the springs were also changed and "spring cages" were added, which also led to a decrease in weight: this design turned out to be lighter than a single spring with a variable pitch of turns. In addition, the 765LT received retuned active shock absorbers.

  • Lightweight carbon fiber seats have appeared in the interior of the supercar. At the same time, for the sake of reducing the mass of the coupe, they deprived of the audio system and climate control. However, upon the buyer's request, they can be returned to their place.
