Audi has unveiled the fourth generation A3. So far, only the five-door A3 Sportback hatchback is shown, followed by the powerful S3 and RS3 versions, as well as the sedan.

• With the change of generation, the Audi A3 Sportback has grown in length by 27 millimeters (up to 4340 mm) and in width by 35 mm (1820 mm). The height (1426 mm) and the size of the wheelbase (2637 mm) remained unchanged. The developers note that due to the optimization of aerodynamics and new noise insulation, acoustic comfort has been greatly improved.
• The diameter of the rims is from 16 to 19 inches. The volume of the trunk is from 380 to 1200 liters.
• The novelty does not have a single common body part with its predecessor, and the interior has changed even more radically than the exterior. Noteworthy is the unusual arrangement of air ducts on the front panel and the complex architecture of the front panel. The new infotainment system with a 10.1-inch display is 10 times faster than the old one and is now fully touchscreen. The digital tidy is available in two versions - with a diagonal of 10.25 or 12.3 inches.
• The interior uses recycled plastic for the first time. It takes 45 bottles of 1.5 liters to make the upholstery of the seats of one car, and another 62 is needed to create the flooring. Recycled materials are also used in soundproofing, flooring and trunk side walls.

• For the novelty, matrix headlights, adaptive cruise control operating in the range from 0 to 210 km / h, wireless charging for smartphones, head-up display, built-in Wi-Fi hotspot with 4G network are offered.
• The new Audi A3 received an upgraded MQB platform from the eighth generation Volkswagen Golf. Basic versions are equipped with McPherson front struts and a semi-dependent beam at the rear, while more powerful modifications are equipped with a multi-link in the rear axle. The A3 also offers a standard suspension and two adaptive damping options - lowering by 10 and 15 mm.
• At the start of sales in Europe, the Audi A3 will be offered with a choice of a two-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 116 or 150 hp, as well as with a 1.5-liter "turbo four" with a capacity of 150 horsepower. As an option, the petrol engine becomes "mildly hybrid" thanks to the 48-volt 18-hp starter-generator. (50 Nm), which allows up to 40 seconds to coast with the engine off. Gearboxes - six-speed "mechanics" and seven-speed "robot" with two clutches.

Audi dealers in Europe have already started taking orders for the new A3 Sportback hatchback. The first deliveries will take place in May. It is still unknown when the model will appear in Russia.
