
Video: Yandex Will Bring More Than 100 Drones To The Roads Of The Moscow Region

Testing of unmanned vehicles will begin on the roads of the Moscow Region in mid-March. Yandex will undertake the tests together with the Moscow Automobile and Highway University (MADI). This was reported by the agency "Moscow" with reference to the NTI "Avtonet".


- More than 100 drones will appear on the Kiev, Minsk, Mozhaisk, Novorizhskoe, Gorkovskoe, Volokolamskoe and Kashirskoe highways. Test engineers will sit in each car.

As now, the main tests will take place in Moscow - inside the Moscow Ring Road, as well as in Yasenevo, Butovo and Kommunarka. Yandex already has two test locations in the Moscow region: Skolkovo and the closed polygon in Stupino. From mid-March, drones will reach these locations along highways in autonomous mode. In addition, tests are held in Innopolis in Tatarstan.
Earlier, the Russian government increased the list of regions in which it is allowed to test unmanned vehicles from two to thirteen. It included, in particular, St. Petersburg, the Samara and Moscow regions, as well as the Krasnodar Territory. The experiments should officially end on March 1, 2022.
