Sedan Hyundai Sonata First Received A Lengthened Version

Hyundai has unveiled the next generation Sonat sedan for the Chinese market. For the first time in history, the model received an extended wheelbase.

• The length of the Chinese Sonata increased from 4900 to 4955 millimeters, of which 50 mm fell on the wheelbase (up to 2890 mm). Outside, the sedan differs from the version for the Russian market in bumpers without chrome inserts: the same ones are put on modifications with turbo engines in Korea and the USA.
• In the cabin, the long-wheelbase Sonata now has a digital dashboard and a multimedia system monitor, located under a single glass. For sedans for other markets, they are separate. The climate control unit of the Chinese version has become fully touch-sensitive, and a large compartment with a sliding curtain has appeared on the central tunnel.
• In China, Hyundai Sonat will be offered with two petrol turbo engines - 1.5-liter with 170 hp. together with a seven-speed "robot" with two clutches and a 240-horsepower 2.0, which is paired with an eight-speed "automatic".
• The production of an extended sedan will be established at the Beijing Hyundai plant. In China, sales of the Hyundai Sonat are set to begin on May 10, 2020.
