Most road traffic accidents in Russia in 2019 happened on Fridays, and fatal accidents most often occurred on Saturdays. Least of all accidents were recorded on Sundays and Wednesdays. The agency "TASS" was told about this in the State Traffic Inspectorate.

• According to statistics, more than 25 thousand accidents were registered on Friday last year, in which over 2.4 thousand people died. More than three thousand people were killed in Saturday accidents. The peak of the accident rate, regardless of the day of the week, was at nine o'clock in the morning and at eight in the evening.
• According to the traffic police, in 2019, more than 164.3 thousand road accidents occurred on Russian roads, in which 16.9 thousand people died. Compared to 2018, the mortality rate decreased by 6.8 percent.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Vladimir Kolokoltsev said that by 2030 people will stop dying on the roads in Russia. They want to defeat mortality by improving driving culture, increasing pedestrian protection and developing a system for assisting victims in accidents.
