
Video: The Amount Of Fines For Traffic Violations In Russia For The First Time Exceeded 100 Billion Rubles In A Year

The State traffic inspectorate published data according to which in 2019 the amount of fines imposed on Russian drivers increased by 8.6 percent compared to 2018 and for the first time exceeded the mark of 100 billion rubles.
- Traffic cameras issued fines for 82.7 billion rubles, and the remaining 23.8 billion fell on orders issued by traffic police inspectors. At the same time, the drivers paid only 68 billion rubles.
- The number of violating drivers on the roads of Russia increased by 13 percent and amounted to 117.2 million people. In 2019, they received 142.1 million administrative fines, which is 11 percent more than in 2018.

The most frequent violation was speeding - 101.8 million fines. This is followed by the violation of the requirements of signs or markings (12 million regulations), driving at red lights (5.1 million), as well as non-observance of the rules for overtaking, passing and parking (3.3 million). Drivers received 2.8 million fines for refusing to use seat belts and motorcycle helmets, as well as for the absence of OSAGO. For drunk driving, 308.1 thousand cases were initiated.
- The largest number of penalty receipts in 2019 were issued in Moscow, the Moscow region, the Sverdlovsk region, Tatarstan and the Krasnodar Territory.
