Video: Bugatti Has Unveiled Three Prototypes That Will Never Become Serial

Bugatti has shared with Autoblog the renders of the concept cars, the creation of which began back in 2015. Later, due to the outbreak of the diesel scandal around the parent Volkswagen concern, the cars were classified.

The earliest concept is the Bugatti Atlantic coupe with a carbon monocoque. It is styled after the classic Type 57SC Atlantic, which was produced from 1934 to 1940. The concept car with lifting doors assumed the installation of a bi-turbo V8 in the front, while the production Veyron and Chiron had the eight-liter W16 behind the cabin.

Bugatti also planned to convert the 1200-horsepower Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse roadster into an extreme speedster Barchett - without a roof and with tiny glass. As a result, not a single copy was made, and the style of its front end was then used in the development of the 1,500-horsepower Bugatti Divo coupe, which is planned to be released in an edition of 40 pieces.

The latest concept, called the Bugatti GT Rembrandt, is the craziest: the coupe has a front-mounted engine like the Atlantic, but instead of an eight-cylinder, it's a Chiron's 1500-horsepower W16. But this model, named after Ettore Bugatti's younger brother, Rembrandt, in the end only shared design elements with the unique Bugatti LVoiture Noire, which costs 11 million euros excluding taxes. None of these cars made it into the series.
