The stylish-hype Rivian and the memorable TeslCybertruck are far from the only electric pickups that await us in the near future. We have collected for you several important electronic products in this unexpected class: who, what and when is preparing to present.
When? 2021 year
A cool presentation that turned into an event. A model turned into a meme. While in garages on both sides of the Atlantic they are trying to collect copies of the masked "cyber pickup" with deliberately chopped shapes, the Cybertruck itself with a 5.9-meter monocoque body (yeah, no frame!) And a six-seater saloon is preparing to become serial sometime by the end of 2021. And this is very soon, even despite the constant transfer of dates inherent in Elon Musk.
Recall that in addition to the brutal appearance, unpainted body metal and a cargo compartment of 2.8 cubic meters, we are waiting for several options for power filling: with one, two and three electric motors. The "older" version will be able to accelerate to a hundred in three seconds, travel 402 meters faster than the Porsche 911 Turbo and cover over 800 kilometers on a single charge. In addition, Tesl is ready to offer Cybertruck such goodies as an autopilot, armored glass (they were broken during the presentation, twice), a retractable ramp in the rear, powerful optics for off-road sorties and a folding tent for overnight stays.
What? NikolMotors Badger
When? Autumn 2020
Where Tesla is, there is Nikola, right? Thanks to the startup from Utah for the delicate trolling of Elon Musk, but it is much more important to thank the company for the product: the semi-electric-semi-hydrogen Badger pickup truck with a range of up to 966 kilometers.
Nikol's Badger has a pretty impressive muscular appearance, as well as astonishing figures even by Cybertruck standards: 919 horsepower and 1330 Newton-meters of torque. In the dynamics of Badger, Tesla will not merge: he has the same 2.9 seconds of acceleration to 60 mph (96.5 km / h), or about three seconds to a hundred. But in terms of technical confusion, there is an obvious advantage: the first half of the pickup's total range is provided by its lithium-ion battery, and then a 120-kilowatt fuel cell installation comes into play.
NikolMotors intends to show the prototype this September. Whether the interior of the pickup and the level of gadgetisation in general will be similar to the renders presented is still a question.
When? Spring 2021
Yes, the name Hummer has been revived, but, alas, not in the way we are used to. Only the spirit of the legendary SUVs and the general visual message remained "the same" as before. Everything else is entirely innovation. Curl our fingers: Hummer is now part of the GMC brand; Hummer is now a pickup truck; The Hummer is now electric. How do you like that, fans?
At the same time, General Motors promises to roll out something very cool: a Tahoe frame base, 1000 horsepower in the top version, three seconds of acceleration to 100 km / h, an impressive power reserve of 644 kilometers. The premiere itself is scheduled for May 2020. By this time, the official pictures of the car will arrive. Potential is potential, but what the "Electro-Hammer" turns out to be is also important.
What? Fisker Alaska
When? We wait
The head of the Fisker brand, Henrik Fisker, briefly tweeted a new creation: the Alaska pickup truck. While the model exists in the form of a render, however, since the image looks like a recent novelty from Fisker - the Ocean crossover, there is every reason to assume an imminent serial future. A crossover with one or two electric motors should go on sale in late 2021, so an Alaska pickup could be next. With whom the novelty will fight, it is clear. But what exactly Fisker will surprise the audience with alive (by that time) Cybertruck, Hummer, Nikol and Rivian, frankly speaking, we cannot imagine.
What? Rivian R1T
When? 2020 year
Speaking of the American brand Rivian Automotive. Unveiled in Los Angeles in 2018, the R1T pickup truck is not far off the assembly line: the launch will take place at the end of 2020.The model has four electric motors at once and three versions of different power: from 408 to 765 horsepower. In addition, the pickup is equipped with an adjustable air suspension, can change the ground clearance and overcome fords up to a meter deep. And a special feature of Rivian is the Tank Turn system: with it, a pickup truck, using all four motors, is able to literally turn on the spot.
What? Bollinger B2
When? 2020 year
Another eccentric from the world of electric pickups is the utilitarian project Bollinger B2, which is a kind of electric embodiment of the spirit of the Land Rover Defender: simple, square, angry.
Before the pickup appeared, the public was warmed up by the first Bollinger model: the B1 SUV surprised by the simplicity and thoughtfulness of the modular design, compact electrical installation and the ability to naturally "put on" long objects (for their transportation) due to the folding sides in the front and rear parts.
The Bollinger B2 model repeats the same trick with the lengths, but in a pickup form factor. The combined power of the two electric motors on the axles is 622 horsepower, peak torque exceeds 900 Nm, and the EP range can reach 322 kilometers. True, in terms of dynamics, the B2 is far from TeslCybertruck: only 4.5 seconds and some 161 km / h.
