Video: Russian Auto Industry Increased Exports In
At the end of 2019, the export of products of the Russian automotive industry, which includes cars, car kits and components, increased to $ 4 billion - by 17%. The positive dynamics of exports has been recorded for the third year in a row.
The largest share in the export structure was occupied by cars and light commercial vehicles - 44%. These two segments ensured the growth of exports in general: the supply of these types of products abroad increased by 34%, to 1.7 billion dollars. This is the best indicator over the past four years. In quantitative terms, deliveries increased to 113.2 thousand units, by 21%.
In the long-term development strategy of the Russian auto industry, it was assumed that in 2019, under the optimistic scenario, exports will reach $ 3.4 billion ($ 2.9 billion in the baseline scenario). Experts explain the higher real indicators by the recovery in demand in the CIS countries, as well as by the decline in sales in the Russian market (minus 2.3%, 1.76 million units). State support also had a positive effect on the dynamics: manufacturers receive compensation for logistics costs, and also expand assembly production of Russian brands in Kazakhstan, where they have introduced waste collection.
In 2020, experts predict an increase in the export of passenger cars by 10-15%. There are no visible reasons for an increase in the export of trucks and buses yet. The total volume of exports of automotive products should amount to $ 3.4-4.2 billion.
By the end of 2019, imports of passenger cars added 3%: 302.5 thousand cars were imported. In monetary terms, the volume of imports reached $ 7.9 billion, which is 9% more than a year earlier. Imports of trucks also increased by 14%. Over 12 months, 29.9 thousand cars were imported, however, in monetary terms, supplies fell to $ 1.9 billion (minus 3.5%).
