But not everyone thinks so, and some are even ready to sell you a car in which there will be no second place. We have collected eight interesting cars in which it will not be possible to seat a passenger. No way.

Ferrari SP1 Monza

Unlike the two-seater SP2 "twin", only the driver can fit in the silver SP1 barquette with a height of only a meter and a half. Ferrari showed both Monza in 2018 and then announced that it would assemble 500 cars and sell for $ 3,000,000 apiece. The stocky SP1 is based on the stock Ferrari 812 Superfast, including a 6.5-liter 800-horsepower V12. True, both power and torque have been increased: by 20 hp. and exactly 1 Nm.

The pilot of the SP1 Monz sits on the left, and the entire right side is covered by a streamlined panel, so that from the "useful" compartments there is a small trunk and a very tiny secret niche in the area of the right elbow.

Porsche 550 Spyder

Purist fans may be disappointed that this isn't exactly a Porsche. More precisely, not a Porsche at all. A replica of the famous 1953 speedster was assembled by the guys from the Californian company S-Klub L. A., but the result was impressive. Without even lifting the lid that hides the gilded engine compartment, you can say about the car: "beauty itself." Type-Porsche is built on a spatial skeleton frame using a modified boxer motor from Volkswagen Type 4. Speaking of the driver: he sits strictly in the center, hiding from the wind behind a tiny visor-fairing. There is still space on the sides of the chair, but in the S-Klub L. A. did not invent tricky three-seater schemes in the spirit of the McLaren F1, but left the pilot alone with the car. Great layout for a solo racer.

Lamborghini Egoista

If the essence of a sports car is not clear from three steps, the name will tell it. In 2013, the Italians showed a jubilee single concept in the spirit of the Apache helicopter. The concept of the machine came out so radical that the creators began to seriously ask about the bailout system. But the press was disappointed: no noisy shows, no serial incarnation. And the filling was not new: the base of the then Gallardo sports car plus its own 5.2-liter V10, boosted to 608 horses. True, the aerodynamic body designed by Walter de Silva, "invisible to radars," did its job: against the background of Egoist, even a black demon named Reventon faded.

When the car needs to be perverted to a freak, the Swiss from Rinspeed are right there. Although in comparison with wild amphibians and "sliding" city cars, the 2001 speedster concept seems quite earthy - just think, a single-seat layout with an armchair in the center. But the five-speed manual transmission and even the motor are ordinary. However, the same cockpit, for example, is made movable and, depending on the speed, moves up / down. The sports car of the Spanish company Advanced Design Tramontan can hardly be called a closed version of the BAC Mono. The pilot of the single-seater version should not be afraid of the wind, because the face is protected by a folding fairing. But in terms of power, one Tramontan is worth three BAC Monos: the 5.5-liter V12 from Mercedes-Benz at the rear of the sports car develops a crazy 720 horsepower, or all 888s in a charged XTR version. As a result, the acceleration time to hundreds is negligible, and the maximum speed is reasonably limited to 260 kilometers per hour. But the cost of such a rocket seemed to be deliberately not held back: 495,000 dollars!

ElectrMeccanicSolo

The half-machine Solo is relatively fresh. The Canadian company ElectrMeccanic brought it to the road in 2018, having been gathering strength for several years before. As the name suggests, the Solo is not designed to ride with passengers, but the ride itself will be quite dynamic. Despite the modest 82-horsepower electric motor, the tricycle is capable of developing 132 km / h, and the power reserve - if not driving - is 160 kilometers. It offers the only occupant of the cabin - a completely familiar driver's seat, as well as air conditioning, power windows and, for example, heated seats. I.e, seat, sure.
