Hydrogen BMWs Will Equal The & Nbsp; Price With & Nbsp; Gasoline By & Nbsp; 2025 & Nbsp; Year

The cost of hydrogen-powered cars will drop to the level of gasoline-powered cars in the next five years. This forecast was given to The Telegraph by Jurgen Guldner, head of BMW hydrogen technologies.

• According to him, the cost of the main components of hydrogen vehicles, including electric motors, will significantly decrease in the near future. BMW has partnered with 2015 Toyotc in this area. Automakers have recently begun work on a third-generation powerplant that minimizes the use of the very expensive platinum used as a chemical reaction catalyst.

• At the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW unveiled the i Hydrogen NEXT concept based on the X5. Now the company is testing prototypes of a hydrogen crossover: their range is 400-480 kilometers, and a full refueling takes about four minutes.
• It is planned that the hydrogen-powered BMW X5 with an increased range of up to 560 kilometers will go into small-scale production in 2022. A little later, the production of X6 and X7 crossovers, equipped with the same power plants, will begin.

Toyot will begin selling the second-generation Mirai hydrogen sedan at the end of 2020. The rear-wheel drive four-door is capable of driving 845 kilometers at one gas station.
