Alpine Mid-engined Sports Car Turned Into SUV

Renault's Alpine has prepared a concept version of the SportsX for the A110 mid-engined coupe. The prototype is inspired by the classic Alpine A110 that won the 1973 Monte Carlo Rally.

• SportsX was built on the basis of the standard modification of the A110 - Pure, which weighs only 1098 kilograms. The car's track and wheel arches were widened by 80 millimeters, and the ground clearance was increased from 100 to 160 mm.
• The exterior of the Alpine A110 SportsX is complemented by a two-tone paint job, a front bumper with enlarged air intakes and ski mounts on the rear window. Electrical tape is glued on the round headlights with a cross: earlier this was done on rally cars so that if damaged, the glass would not crumble into fragments.
• The rear-wheel drive A110 SportsX is equipped with a serial 1.8-liter "turbo four" with a capacity of 252 hp. (320 Nm) and a seven-speed "robot" with two clutches. The standard coupe accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km / h.
• The Alpine A110 SportsX will remain a prototype. The unique car will appear at various exhibitions and events of the company.
