Cruise Automation, owned by General Motors, has shown the Origin unmanned shuttle. Despite its futuristic appearance, it is completely ready for mass production.

-
Cruise Origin is made as symmetrical as possible - you can distinguish the front from the rear only by the white headlights and the lack of space for the license plate. Each sidewall has two glass sliding doors. Also, lidars and sensors are fixed at the corners of the shuttle, and there are no wipers on the windows.
- In the cabin there are two three-seater sofas, opposite each other, and monitors are suspended above them, broadcasting information about the trip. There are USB ports on the side of the seats for each passenger. To start a ride, you just need to press the Start Ride button on the door - there are no controls on the car.
- Cruise Origin's specifications are kept secret. The developers boast that the shuttle has a lifespan of more than a million miles (1.6 million kilometers), six times that of a conventional electric vehicle. The autopilot of the novelty can recognize and track several people and other objects at once, including in complete darkness, during rain or snow.
- Origin will not go to retail - it will work in the proprietary transport system. According to the calculations of the creators, the use of the shuttle in San Francisco will allow the average family to save up to $ 5,000 a year (310 thousand rubles).
- While Cruise Origin will be tested in closed areas, as the model does not have permission to travel on normal roads. At the same time, even the approximate terms of the service launch are not named.
