Video: Koenigsegg Will Make A Hypercar With A Top Speed Of More Than 500 Km / H
Swedish hypercar manufacturer Koenigsegg is working on a Mission 500 prototype with a top speed of over 500 km / h. This became known to the portal The Supercar Blog.
- The Koenigsegg Mission 500 is expected to be built on the basis of the Jesko hypercar unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The latter is equipped with a bi-turbo 5.0 V8, which on ethanol E85 produces 1622 horsepower, as well as an ultra-fast nine-speed "robot" with six "wet" clutches. Jesko's top speed, according to calculations, is 482 km / h.
The Koenigsegg Mission 500 will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2020. Then it will become known whether the novelty will be serial or it will be built in a single copy for a record arrival.
Now the speed record among production cars belongs to the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, equipped with a 1600-horsepower eight-liter W16 with four turbines. In the fall of 2019, the prototype of the hypercar was accelerated to 490.484 km / h. After that, Bugatti said that they would not conduct a new race if this achievement is beaten.
