Video: 700 Forces Without Windshield: New Exclusive From Aston Martin
Aston Martin has released a teaser for the V12 Speedster, which will be released in a limited edition of 88 pieces. Apparently, among the wealthy buyers of supercars, there has been a fashion for the absence of windshields - the new Aston develops the theme set by Ferrari MonzSP1 / SP2 and McLaren Elva.
For ideas of what the V12 Speedster will look like, the British suggest looking in the racing Aston Martin DBR1, which won the 1959 Le Mans (pictured below). In addition, the production version should have a lot in common with the CC100 Speedster concept, created in 2013 on the occasion of the brand's centenary.
Under the hood of the collectible speedster will be a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that will develop around 700 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. This is far from a record degree of unit forcing: for comparison, the Aston Martin DBS Zagato coupe has 771 hp. and 900 Nm. The engine will be combined with an eight-speed "automatic" ZF. Dynamic characteristics and other details have not yet been announced.
The V12 Speedster will be fully declassified this year, but deliveries of the first cars to customers are scheduled only for the first quarter of 2021.
