Ford intends to create a compact version of the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover. The new model will also be styled after the legendary coupe, but it uses the modular MEB architecture of the Volkswagen concern. At the same time, the Mustang Mach-E platform was developed by Ford from the ground up.

The Ford electric crossover will be built on a German platform thanks to an agreement between the companies in 2019. The first MEB-based Ford model will appear in 2023, and its production will be established at the Ford plant in Germany, in Cologne. In just six years, Ford plans to sell 600,000 electric vehicles in Europe.
