Video: In France, The Tax On & Nbsp; Non-environmentally Friendly Cars Increased To & Nbsp; 1.4 & Nbsp; Million Rubles

The French parliament passed a law raising taxes on cars that emit more than 212 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer. Now every year the owners of non-environmentally friendly cars will have to pay 20,000 euros (1.4 million rubles) instead of the already considerable 12,500 euros (820 thousand rubles).
Basically, the new law will hit the wallets of owners of crossovers and sports cars. For example, the new 390-horsepower Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 emits 234 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer, the 575-horsepower Jaguar F-Type R - 269 grams, and the 1500-horsepower Bugatti Chiron - 516 grams.

- According to Bloomberg, according to preliminary estimates of the French Ministry of Finance, the increase in the tax on car emissions should bring an additional 50 million euros per year. These funds will be directed to the development of environmentally friendly transport. At the same time, the country plans to reduce the amount of benefits for the purchase of electric cars and hydrogen cars.

French finance minister Bruno Le Maire also criticized the crossover ads. He said automakers should warn customers about the harmful effects of such cars on the environment.
In Russia, the increasing coefficient of the transport tax is calculated not on the basis of emissions of harmful substances, but on the cost of the car. For example, for cars that cost 5-10 million rubles and are up to five years old, the amount of tax, depending on engine power, doubles. The Moscow owner of the new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 will have to pay a transport tax of 117 thousand rubles per year.
