Auction house Mecum will auction the 1958 Plymouth Fury in January 2020. It was this coupe that participated in the filming of the horror film Christina in 1983 based on the book of the same name by Stephen King.
The Plymouth Fury up for auction was used for close-up shots. After the creation of the film, the coupe, along with other props, was raffled off in a lottery, which became part of the film's advertising campaign. About 40,000 people took part in it, and a certain Scott Edminster won the car.
- After several restorations and changes of owners, the movie hero has been preserved in perfect condition. He retained a unique speedometer for the model, marked up to 150 mph (241 km / h), license plates from the film and an ominous radio tape recorder that served as the voice of the car. To keep everyone afraid, there is a sticker on the rear chrome bumper “Beware of me. I am pure evil. I'm Kristina".
- The Plymouth Fury is powered by a 5.2-liter twin-carb V8 that develops 294 horsepower. The petrol engine sends all the power to the rear wheels through a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic.
- According to Mecum experts, the Plymouth Fury for sale is the only car that has documents confirming its participation in the filming of the movie "Christina". For the coupe they plan to gain from 400,000 to 500,000 dollars (25-31 million rubles).
