Lamborghini's Insane Hot Rod Put Up For Auction

Auction house Mecum will auction a hot rod made from a real 1968 Lamborghini Espad coupe. The car was remade by French customizer Alexander Danton.

• The hot rod was built in 2018, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the rare model, released in a circulation of 1,217 copies. From the original coupe, only a few body parts, chassis and the native 3.9-liter V12 with 350 hp remain. (394 Nm), which became open to all winds.
• The roof was significantly lowered, the side windows were removed and air intakes borrowed from the Lamborghini Reventon were installed. Wheels - 19-inch in front and 20-inch in the rear - were taken out of the body. With them, the width of the car increased to 2.5 meters.
• The interior has become extremely minimalistic: almost everything (even the seats) is made of iron sheets. The speedometer has been moved to the center of the dashboard, and the tachometer has been moved to the ceiling. The harsh interior with many rivets in the decoration is ennobled by the Italian tricolor, which runs between the seats.

The wild Lamborghini Espad will be auctioned off in early 2020 in the United States. The estimated cost of the hot rod is 200,000 - 250,000 dollars (12.5-15.6 million rubles).
