Ki has decided not to create a special modification of the new K5 sedan (Optim for the global market) intended for taxi fleets. At the same time, all previous generations of the model on the South Korean market had a similar design. The decision became known to the KoreJoongAng Daily.

-
With the new Optima, Kiree wants to revive the popularity of the model among private buyers who have begun to lose interest in it. In the previous generation, the taxi version accounted for up to 40 percent of sales. To meet the demand of Korean taxi companies, they will continue to produce the K5 / Optim of the previous family.
- Judging by the popularity of the new product, Ki's plan is working: in the three weeks that have passed since November 21, the company has collected more than 16,000 pre-orders for the new sedan in the home market, which was the best indicator in the history of the brand. The KiK5 sales target in South Korea for 2020 is 70,000 copies.
The initial cost of the new sedan in the Korean market is 20.35 million won (1.07 million rubles) for the version with a 160-horsepower two-liter aspirated engine. The top version with a 195-horsepower hybrid setup costs 38.8 million won (2.07 million rubles).
