Video: When Two Are More Expensive Than Four: The Most Expensive Motorcycles In The & Nbsp; World
Modern motorcycles are not cheap pleasure: the popular enduro BMW R 1250 GS Adventure in the cabin costs from 1 million 465 thousand rubles, and if you load it with options, the price will easily reach 2 million. That is, it will be compared in value with the BMW X1 crossover. Well, how much they ask for HondGold Wing and other tourist class motorcycles in expensive trim levels is better not to know at all. However, we decided to look at the market even more broadly and chose 10 most expensive motorcycles in the world.
Aston Martin Brough Superior AMB 001 - 7.7 million rubles
We warn you right away: in this collection we will do without custom designs decorated with rubies and gold, single concepts and all kinds of megabytes that exist only in the fantasies of startups and novice designers. Suddenly, one of the readers wants to buy one of the motorcycles, and then it turns out that we offered him to invest in a financial pyramid.
Better to spend the money on the first Aston Martin motorcycle, which the British company created in conjunction with another, no less British company, Brough Superior. The bike was presented in November at the largest motorcycle exhibition EICM and aroused increased interest - not only by its appearance and price, but also by its characteristics.
The AMB 001 is based on a chassis that uses carbon fiber, titanium and aluminum, while the engine and carbon fairings are part of the power structure. The liter V-twin engine itself is turbocharged and dry sump lubricated and produces an impressive 180 horsepower. Taking into account a dry weight of 180 kilograms, it is not difficult to calculate the specific power of the AMB 001.
It will be much more difficult to count the money for its purchase, because the bike costs 120 thousand dollars. Exactly 100 motorcycles will be produced, and they will only be operated on race tracks. Deliveries to customers will begin in the fourth quarter of 2020.
MV AgustF4CC - 7.7 million rubles
A motorcycle similar to the AMB 001 was released by the Italian company MV Agusta a dozen years ago. The F4CC is also clad in carbon armor and also has a modest print run of one hundred. But, unlike the British superbike, it can ride on public roads, and its price tag did not go crazy right away.
When the F4CC model, dedicated to Claudio Castiglioni (hence the CC index) - the creator of iconic bikes - just went on sale, it cost "only" 2.4 million rubles. But time, limited edition and the historical value of the motorcycle did their job, so now one copy of MV AgustF4CC costs about 7.7 million rubles. In any case, in 2015, actor and motorcycle collector Peter Fonda sold his Agusta for exactly that amount.
According to its characteristics, the F4CC is a top-end superbike by the standards of its time. In addition to the carbon fiber tail, it has a titanium exhaust system and a 198 horsepower 1.1-liter engine. It takes a little more than two seconds to accelerate to hundreds of a motorcycle, and the maximum speed is 314 kilometers per hour. Each F4CC came with a custom-made leather jacket and a Girard-Perregaux chronometer.
MTT Turbine Superbike - 11.2 million rubles
A superbike with a gas turbine engine? The idea, at first glance, is crazy, but this solution has a lot of advantages. First, the motorcycle does not suffer from engine vibration. Secondly, you can get tremendous power and, as a result, no less tremendous top speed in the region of 400 kilometers per hour. Thirdly, this is a wow effect, and in the superbike segment, you have to stand out with something.
But the gas turbine engine also has disadvantages: it is large and heavy, voracious, difficult to maintain, and its exhaust gases are hot enough to melt the plastic bumper of a nearby car. Well, buying a motorcycle with such a motor is not easy.
MTT Turbine has been making radical Rolls-Royce Allison gas turbine motorcycles since the early 2000s, and their latest creation is the 420RR.This motorcycle is equipped with a two-speed automatic transmission, a digital instrument panel, and most importantly, an Allison 250 engine, which develops 420 horsepower and 745 Nm of torque! And yes, this monster is allowed to be used on public roads.
No more than five motorcycles are assembled annually, the starting price of each of which is $ 175,000, or 11.2 million rubles at the current exchange rate. But this is in the USA, and how much such a motorcycle will cost in Russia is even scary to assume.
Confederate Combat Fighter G51 Black Flag - 11.5 million rubles
But we know exactly how much the rarest Confederate Combat Fighter G51 Black Flag will cost in Russia - 11.5 million rubles. Because right now one of these motorcycles is being sold on Avto.ru.
The Combat Fighter G51 Black Flag was the last piece assembled by the Matt Chambers team before the Confederate brand was sold. Only 30 of these bikes were created, and if we talk about the copy that is sold on Avto.ru, then this is a motorcycle with serial number 12.
The Combat Fighter G51 Black Flag features a hand-assembled aluminum frame, a carbon fiber body kit, and transparent sections on the gas tank, valve cover and air filter that give you a better understanding of how the twin-cylinder heart of a motorcycle works. It, with a volume of 2.2 liters, develops 200 horsepower and allows the bike to accelerate to 265 kilometers per hour.
HondRC213 V-S - 11.8 million rubles
This bike is the easiest way to feel like Marc Marquez, six-time MotoGP champion. Because the road version of the V-S differs from the racing version of the RC213 V only in the cassette gearbox and the absence of pneumatic valve actuation. This is not counting all the cosmetics, such as head and rear optics, an electric starter, a side stand and other attributes of a modern road bike.
In terms of characteristics, the bike, at first glance, does not represent anything interesting: 157 horsepower is far from a class record. However, if you install a special factory kit for closed racing tracks on a Honda, then the power increases to 213 forces, and the limiter cutoff shifts from 11 to 13 thousand rpm. Considering that with this track whale the bike also "loses weight" up to 160 kilograms (from 170), it turns out to be a very serious track weapon.
Which, of course, cannot cost little. Against the background of the cost of HondRC213 V-S, even "Gold" with all the options will be an affordable offer. The V-S doesn't even have an audio system.
Ducati Desmosedici D16RR NCR M16 - 15 million rubles
The situation is similar with the Ducati superbike, the name of which resembles a captcha. In its basic configuration, it does not differ much from other models in the class, and its price does not cause dizziness - an inexpressive 4.5 million rubles against the background of the above motorcycles. But it's worth adding a track package …
The motorcycle will not only become ultra-light (145 kilograms!), But also monstrously expensive. Collected only one and a half thousand copies of the D16RR NCR, and not all of them were equipped with an expensive option. However, even without a track package, the bike flaunts an abundance of carbon, titanium and aircraft-grade aluminum. Well, 200 forces taken from a liter engine will be enough for any motor sportsman for the eyes.
Lotus C-01 - 28.8 million rubles
The Lotus C-01 is like one of those motorcycles that only remains on paper or, at worst, in a computer program. But no, it exists in reality, and there are 100 copies, each of which is decorated in the style of classic Lotus models.
The C-01 bike was created by the Kodew and Holzer Group companies together with the famous designer Daniel Simon - the one who drew motorcycles for the movie "Throne" and the Red Skull super cabriolet for the solo album about Captain America. Well, Lotus just gave the go-ahead to use its name. The bike is styled after the 1960s cafe racers, although technically quite modern, from the optics using LEDs to the 1.2-liter KTM engine from the RC8. True, as befits a cafe, it is extremely simplified - there was no place even for the ABS system.
In 2014, when the bike was just announced, one copy of the C-01 cost about 9 million rubles. But now their prices have risen significantly: in 2016, at the Mecum auction, one of the motorcycles was sold for 450 thousand dollars, which is equivalent to 28.8 million rubles. Few four-wheeled Lotus will cost that much.
Cyclone Board Track Racer - 54.5 million rubles
In general, auctions are a rather slippery topic. It seems that there is a motorcycle, it costs one hundred rubles on a market day … but suddenly someone puts it up for auction and it turns out that the motorcycle costs not one hundred rubles, but one hundred and fifty. And the rules of the game are being rewritten. For clarity - our next example.
There is a bike like the Cyclone Board Track Racer. Before World War II, 12 of them were built, and only six have survived to this day. And before the Mecum auction in 2015, everyone thought that the normal price for such a bike - even a very well-groomed one, even with Steve McQueen among the owners - was about 650 thousand dollars (41 million rubles). But the auction was held and it turned out that in fact the Cyclone costs thousands of dollars and millions of rubles more. And this is a wake-up call for other owners of Board Track Racer that now you can ask for very indecent amounts for it.
But the motorcycle is worthy of odious sums - after all, back in 1913, it developed 178 kilometers per hour, squeezing all the juices out of the 45 horsepower V-twin engine. It takes a very long time to stop the Cyclone at such a speed, because the bike has no brakes in the usual sense of the word. Absolutely.
E90 AJS Porcupine - 446.2 million rubles
Looking at this handsome man, it's hard to believe that such a motorcycle could have been created in 1949. But the E90 AJS Porcupine not only looked good, but also drove fast, so much so that its creator Lesley Graham won the 1949 World Cup in the 500cc class.
The circulation of the model was 4 copies, how many of them are alive today is not known for sure. At least two. But it is known that copy number 1 - on which, in fact, Graham performed - now costs at least $ 7 million. For this amount, the motorcycle went to auction, and this despite the fact that the estimated cost was 10 times less!
Since the second surviving E90 AJS Porcupine is not fully original and has a less intense racing history, it is unlikely that this record for classic motorcycles will be broken in the coming years.
Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter - 701.2 million rubles
From 94 thousand to 9.4 million euros - thanks to the auction, the price of Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter has increased 100 times! Actually, such a price increase for a modern motorcycle - especially for a motorcycle produced in 45 copies - is something unique. But in this case, a well-thought-out marketing campaign bore fruit. Like, our motorcycle descended from dreams of a high-tech future, blah blah blah and all that. It worked - and now this bike costs more than a brand new Bugatti Chiron complete with a cozy Mediterranean estate.
The Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter can be driven on public roads and driven fast: its top speed reaches 300 kilometers per hour. Falling is also possible, but expensive: titanium, aluminum and carbon fiber were used in the creation of the motorcycle. The engine is a traditional custom V-twin. But all this is just conventions dancing around a crazy price. Indeed, in our top 10 most expensive motorcycles in the world, this one is the most.
