At the auto show in Guangzhou, China, the premiere of the serial Lexus UX 300e, equipped with an all-electric power plant, took place. Externally, the front-wheel drive crossover differs from the versions with internal combustion engines only by nameplates, while its design has been seriously changed.

-
Lexus UX 300e received one electric motor installed under the hood along with inverters and a control unit. The output of the unit is 204 hp. and 300 Nm of torque. There is no information on the dynamic characteristics of the crossover yet.
- A traction battery with a capacity of 54.3 kWh is hidden under the floor of the cabin. The declared power reserve of 400 kilometers is measured according to the NEDC cycle - outdated and far from reality. On a 50 kW DC station, it should take 50 minutes to charge the battery, while using a 6.6 kW AC unit would take about seven hours.
- Engineers completely closed the bottom with aerodynamic flaps and reconfigured the suspension - the ground clearance decreased from 160 to 140 millimeters. In the UX 300e's cabin, of the original parts, there is only a new driving mode selector and its own instrument graphics.
The electric Lexus UX 300e will go on sale in Europe and China in 2020. A year later, the crossover will reach the Japanese market.
