Mercedes-AMG has unveiled three new crossovers at once - GLE 63, GLE 63 S and GLS 63. The models were shown at the Los Angeles Motor Show.

Like all AMG models of the 63 series, the crossovers are equipped with a four-liter V8 biturbo with the M177 index. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 develops 571 hp. (750 Nm), and in the S-version of the same model and flagship, the engine is boosted to 612 hp. (850 Nm).
- Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 4.2 seconds for the GLS 63, 4 seconds for the GLE 63 and 3.8 seconds for the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S, which corresponds to the dynamics of the 600 hp Audi RS Q8 and the 625 hp BMW The X5 M and X6 M Competition all debuted in Los Angeles. Only the 717-horsepower Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (3.7 seconds) and the 650-horsepower Lamborghini Urus (3.6 seconds) are faster than them.
- The top speed of the new Mercedes-AMG crossovers is electronically limited to 250 km / h. With the optional AMG Driver's Package, the limit is shifted to 280 km / h.
The engine, which turns off half of the cylinders at low loads, is assisted by a 48-volt EQ Boost starter-generator. It gives a short-term increase of 22 hp. (250 Nm), helping to accelerate in the first seconds. It also recovers braking energy. The transmission is a nine-speed automatic AMG Speedshift TCT 9G.
- All new items from Mercedes-AMG are equipped with a multi-plate clutch that connects the front axle and an electronically controlled rear axle differential. Air suspension is of two types - standard and with active anti-roll bars.
The Mercedes-AMG GLE is fitted with rims ranging from 20 to 22 inches, and the GLS from 21 to 23 inches. All crossovers have 400mm steel discs with six-piston calipers at the front and 370mm floating calipers at the rear. Carbon ceramic brakes are available as options.
- Externally, the AMG versions of the GLE and GLS differ from the basic modifications by an aerodynamic body kit, a proprietary Panamerican radiator grill and four exhaust pipes. In the cabin there are seats with developed lateral support, contrasting stitching of leather upholstery, a steering wheel with a truncated rim, as well as MBUX multimedia with modified graphics and a telemetry recording function.
All three Mercedes-AMG crossovers will go on sale in mid-2020.
