The traffic police plans to issue driver's licenses to 17-year-olds, provided that they have completed an extended training course. As reported by the agency RIA ", this was told by the head of the traffic police Mikhail Chernikov.
- According to Chernikov, the idea is for a teenager to study traffic rules not for three months, as adults, but much longer. For example, until the age of 14 to learn the rules and fundamentals of driving in the detachment of "Young Traffic Inspectors" (YID), and then - in driving schools.
- By 2024, the State Traffic Inspectorate expects to attract up to 500 thousand children aged from eight years to the YID. At the same time, the traffic police in the near future does not plan to make fundamental changes to the traffic rules so as not to confuse students and drivers.
