NP "GLONASS" is developing a mobile application that will be able to check the state of a car engine by its sound. The press secretary of the non-commercial partnership Yaroslav Fedoseev told TASS agency about this.
- According to him, the new service will become a car analogue of the Shazam application, which recognizes songs and their artists. "Autoshazam" (this is how the creators call the program) with the help of artificial intelligence will be able to determine the age of the car and its mileage by the sound of the engine.
- It is assumed that using the application, the user will have to record the sound of the motor, after which this data will be sent for processing. Additionally, a search for information about the car by the owner's phone number will start in social networks, messengers and databases. Based on the data received, the system will show the result of the check and, if necessary, recommend or immediately write down the car for repair.
The creators plan to release a mobile application for checking the engine for sound in 2021. They promise that the data on the sound of the engines will be reliable thanks to the moderation of the automakers. It is not yet known whether the service will be paid.
