General Motors chief designer Michael Simcoe said that the automotive industry is close to starting production of cars equipped with 24- and even 26-inch wheels. Nowadays, such huge wheels can only be found on concept cars and crazy tuning projects. Simcoe promised that he would be among the first to receive the largest wheels on the new General Motors models.

- According to the designer, more recently, wheels with a diameter of even 18 inches were offered for a small number of models, and now they are considered small and are basic on many crossovers. The trend will continue in the future, and the growth in size will affect all segments - both budget and luxury.
- Wheels grow in size due to the fact that they are one of the main elements of the exterior of the car for buyers. Therefore, designers are trying to enhance the attractiveness of cars by increasing the disks.
-
For example, the Cadillac Escalade is equipped with 22-inch wheels from the factory, and in 2020 a new generation SUV will debut, which can get wheels of record size. Now the largest rims - 23 inches in diameter - are optionally installed on the Lamborghini Urus crossover.
