Video: Alfa Romeo Ditched & Nbsp; Supercars For New Crossovers

AlfRomeo has revised its own development plan to reduce costs and increase profits. The updated concept relies on crossovers, and the projects to create supercars GTV and 8C, which the Italians announced in the summer of 2018, are closed.

- The AlfRomeo lineup now includes three models: the Giulietta hatchback, the Giuli sedan, and the Stelvio midsize crossover. Following the coupe and roadster 4C, the Juliet will be discontinued. The remaining models will undergo restyling in 2021, but will not receive the hybrid versions envisaged in last year's plan.
- Also in 2021, the compact crossover Tonale will enter the market, and a year later - a city SUV, which does not yet have a name. The former will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain, while the latter will appear in an all-electric version.

The AlfRomeo GTV was to be powered by a hybrid powertrain with over 600 hp, consisting of a 2.9 V6 gasoline engine located at the front and an electric motor. The 700-horsepower 8C mid-engined sports car was supposed to use a carbon fiber monocoque and an electric motor on the front axle. Back in AlfRomeo, they talked about working on a large crossover, but this model was also abandoned in the end.
