Alfa Romeo Divested Of The & Nbsp; Production Of A Sports Car Made Of & Nbsp; Carbon Fiber

The AlfRomeo 4C coupe and roadster have gone down in history - the Italian brand has completely stopped production of sports two-door models. This became known to the edition Motor1.

• The main reason for abandoning the model is the fall in demand. Sports car sales in Europe and the United States have more than halved since their debut and have not exceeded 500 units in 2018. At the same time, the model is not very outdated: the coupe was presented in 2013, and the roadster two years later.
• AlfRomeo 4C is equipped with a carbon monocoque, and the body is made entirely of composite, which is 20 percent lighter than steel. The dry weight of the coupe is only 895 kilograms (the roadster is 10 kilograms heavier), which allowed the creators to abandon the power steering.
• The coupe and roadster have always been offered with only one engine located behind the cabin - a 240-horsepower 1.75-liter "turbo four". Traction to the rear wheels goes through a six-speed "robot" with two clutches. Thanks to its low weight, the sports car accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 257 km / h.

The latest released AlfRomeo 4Cs are sold in Europe with an initial cost of 63,200 euros (4.5 million rubles). Instead of producing supercars, the Italian company will begin to actively prepare new crossover models for production, the first of which will be the compact Tonale.
