The BMW M2 Coupe has received an extreme version of the CS, which is a farewell to the model before being discontinued. It differs from the standard two-doors in the increased power and expanded use of carbon.
Like the BMW M2 Competition, the M2 CS is equipped with the same three-liter twin-turbo S55 "six", but it was boosted from 410 to 450 hp. while maintaining the maximum torque at around 550 Nm. For the first time, a junior M model is as powerful as the current M4 Competition Coupé.
- The BMW M2 CS is offered with a choice of a six-speed "mechanics" or with a seven-speed "robot" with two clutches. The acceleration time to 100 km / h is 4.2 and 4.0 seconds, respectively, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the M2 Competition. The maximum speed of the novelty is electronically limited at around 280 km / h.
- In the suspension, rubber silent blocks gave way to rigid ball bearings, the shock absorbers became adaptive, and the electronically controlled rear differential was reconfigured. In the base, the M2 CS is equipped with 400mm front discs with six-piston calipers and 380mm rear discs with four-piston calipers. Carbon ceramic brake discs are available as an option.
The new hood with air vent, splitter, roof, mirror housings, diffuser and spoiler are made of carbon fiber. These details allowed to lower the center of gravity, but the curb weight remained at the level of the M2 Competition (1550-1575 kilograms) due to modifications to the engine cooling system. The cabin has more suede trim.
The BMW M2 CS will go on sale in 2020. The cost of a coupe in Germany starts at 95,000 euros (6.7 million rubles), which is 33,100 euros (2.3 million rubles) higher than what is asked for the M2 Competition, which costs at least 4,800,000 rubles in Russia.
