The Hyundai Tucson is still relatively fresh and quite popular, but it went through a planned facelift last year. There are few changes, and the logic in this approach is easy to find: why revolutionize what customers are already drawn to? Enough with a couple of nominally cosmetic touches, right?
It turned out not! In addition to the planned application of chromium-diode make-up, Tussan was fitted with something interesting. And since it so happened that not all owners would notice this "something", we got hold of a real showcase of achievements - Tucson, which contains everything, everything, everything to the smallest detail. So, we have on the test a daring, red, diesel (!) All-wheel drive crossover in the top version of the High-Tech Plus. Its price is 2,269,000 rubles.

Interior
After the update, the Tucson's interior has become even less Asian, for which thanks to the new front panel. Anything that is not super soft is at least pliable. And what is not malleable is of high quality and pleasant to the touch or to the eye. In addition to the eternal blue backlight, which is still annoying eyesight and makes you think about improvements. And in combination with the beige interior, it also gets out of the general mood - here it would be some kind of warm illumination, like in Kia.
Otherwise, the inner world of Tucson is almost an example of ergonomics, filling and reasonable quality. The redesigned "top" of the front panel looks more interesting and more expensive, the media complex in the spirit of the times has climbed up and is about to gain full autonomy. And attention to detail and the absence of noticeable jambs have long been the norm for most Korean salons. Including this one.









Practicality
Even the basic Tussans have a feature to be proud of. These are the backs of the sofa, which can be lowered to the position of the dental chair, or can be raised strictly vertically. In the back seat, it is easy to survive two, five, and ten hours of the road. And only fastidious will complain about the lack of … no, not a place, but entertainment. However, here Tucson still beats the “empty” RAV4 and Qashqai.






Technics
Technically, the current Tucson is a development of its predecessor, which was sold under the name Hyundai ix35. The crossover is based on the same, albeit decently modernized, chassis with a front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link. But the new body has changed qualitatively: it is 48 percent stiffer at once, and Tucson has a stable five-star reputation in the world safety ratings. Restyling in 2018 did not bring anything new to the technique, except…. automatic transmission with eight steps. True, as we said, not everyone will check it out. Scroll through the photo.








Riding
Diesel and a new machine - that's what is interesting about the crossover, which never shone with gambling manners. While the petrol versions work with the old six-speed transmissions, the heavy fuel Tucson uses the new eight-speed. And she's great.

In the duet "motor-transmission" it is generally unclear who is cooler. The thrust of 400 Nm is enough everywhere and always, and the machine flips through the gears up and down without hesitation and confusion. If you feel and turn on the sport mode - it lives in the Drive Mode button under the machine selector - overclocking as a process will become even more fun. Purely sensual Tucson turns into quite a lighter.
And even if nine and a half seconds to a hundred are objectively average figures (the weaker 150-horsepower Tiguan will easily leave you), it is the diesel version that is the fastest of the entire Tucson range. Just ten, compared to the 184-horsepower gasoline, but faster.

Say, can't everything be so good in an artless Korean crossover? And you will be right, because there are problems with the suspension. Whatever one may say, no matter how you give compliments in advance, outside of good asphalt the short-stroke chassis of "Tussana" gives up: it stiffens, punches and, in general, does not indulge in comfort. On country paths - those with bumps and holes - you catch yourself thinking that the budget Cret is more solid and expensive.
As before, the Tucson is a crossover with a pronounced asphalt upbringing.Even despite the lack of taste in taxiing and excitement in the corners (hello, MazdCX-5!), With Hyundai it is comfortable on a long journey (with good coverage) and pleasant in the city (in which the roads are taken care of at the very least).

Equipment
In 2015, the new Tucson has bothered to show off: it was the first in the segment to offer front seat ventilation. No joke - even the BMW X1 did not have this! With the restyling, this feature, of course, has been preserved, and in general the equipment of the Tussan can be pleasantly pleased. Especially those who are not greedy.











Already in the basic configuration Primary for 1,499,000 rubles, the crossover will have partially LED headlights, and along with them - foglights and a 17-inch "casting". Inside, the initial Tucson will have air conditioning, heated front seats, side airbags and curtain airbags, and an electronic hill descent assistant and cruise control will help the driver. True, the aforementioned multimedia system will please only with a small five-inch display and six speakers, and a 4.2-inch TFT screen in the tidy and leather trim (including the front panel) will not be available at all.
A surcharge of 170,000 rubles for the Family package will allow you to use a 7-inch touchscreen and connect gadgets to the system via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, you get dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable lumbar support for the driver's seat, rear parking sensors, heated steering wheel and cooling the glove compartment. These Tucson are equipped with only a six-speed automatic.

Four-wheel drive available for a minimum of RUB 1,689,000. It will be a crossover in the same version of the Family, but with a six-speed "mechanics". Here comes the combo "Four leading + automatic" - this is at least 1,749,000 rubles.
Prices for a top-end gasoline engine - 2.4 liters, 184 horses, 237 Newton meters and 9.6 seconds to a hundred - start at RUB 1,859,000 and end at RUB 2,239,000 for the most packed High-Tech Plus package.

Well, we have a diesel engine. Not the most popular (about ten percent of buyers are interested in such "Tussans"), but full of minced meat. Opposite to this version, there is a price tag of 2 269 000 rubles (when the “base” has fallen in price to 1 889 000 rubles). And here are already entirely LED optics, 19-inch wheels, lighting around the door space, double muffler pipes, contactless opening of the trunk, glass roof, electric boot, leather interior, heated rear seats and ventilation in the front, 8-inch media screen with navigation, wireless smartphone charger, the darkness of front seat adjustments (ten for the driver and eight for the passenger) and a set of electronic assistants, including autobraking, lane keep and intelligent cruise control.
Competitors
Volkswagen Tiguan
Tiguan - традиционное мерило класса, и он дороже. Базовая версия называется Trendline: с 1,4-литровым TSI в 125 сил, передним приводом и шестиступенчатой «механикой» она оценивается в те же 1 499 000 ₽, что и «Туссан». ToyotRAV4
Японский кроссовер прямо сейчас меняет поколение с четвёртого (в котором базовый «Рафик» со 146-сильным двухлитровым мотором стоил от 1 616 000 ₽) на пятое. Новичок стал моднее, богаче и, конечно, дороже, причём ощутимо: все версии прибавили в цене 140–280 тысяч рублей. Начальная комплектация «Стандарт» с атмосферным двухлитровым мотором в 149 сил, механической коробкой передач и передним приводом стоит 1 756 000 ₽. Доплата за бесступенчатый вариатор составит 224 тысячи, но такая версия богаче («Комфорт»). Полноприводные RAV4 доступны в диапазоне от 2 087 000 до 2 661 000 ₽. Nissan Qashqai
Японский кроссовер - настоящая попса сегмента. В России предложены сразу 30 (тридцать!) комплектаций: с двумя моторами на выбор, двумя коробками передач и двумя вариантами привода. Самый доступный Qashqai - это турбированный 115-сильный, 1,2-литровый XE с механической коробкой, за 1 250 000 ₽. В сравнении с Tucson - это выигрыш в 249 000 рублей в цене, но проигрыш по потенциалу, динамике и оснащению. Топовый Qashqai - вполне себе «лухари»: у версии LE Top будет 144-сильный двухлитровый мотор, вариатор, полный привод, а также 19-дюймовые диски, панорамная крыша, автопарковщик, круговой обзор и навигация c Яндекс.Авто. За такой придётся выложить 1 880 000 ₽, что опять-таки сильно дешевле самого дорогого «Туссана». А вот дизеля Nissan, увы, не предложит" style="width: 823px; margin-right: 8px;">

Peugeot 3008/Citroen C5 Aircross
На стороне близнецов-французов (база и техника у машин общая) - яркий дизайн, турбомоторы и оснащение. Но, увы, ни один не предлагает полного привода. Базовый «Ситроен» чуть дешевле базового «Пежо» (1 875 000 ₽ против 1 899 000 ₽), но с топ-версиями всё наоборот: C5 Aircross дороже (2 365 000 ₽ против 2 239 000 ₽). И там, и там есть выбор между бензином (150 сил) и дизелем. The fresh Tucson is still stylish and strong. And strong above all as a product: Hyundai offers European design, almost-almost German ergonomics and quality, does not skimp on options, including very rare in the class. After the update, the choice towards Tucson became even more logical, and first of all we are talking about the diesel version: prettier and cheaper, if you look at classmates. Moreover, the diesel Tucson with all-wheel drive has no direct competitors, except for the German Tiguan.
