The Russian engineering company "Electric Transportation Technologies" has equipped the electric station wagon EL Lad with a hydrogen power plant. The portal "Lada Kalina Club" told about it.
- The car received a new electric motor without permanent magnets of unnamed power instead of the standard 82-horsepower electric motor, a traction battery with an increased capacity (24 kWh versus the previous 13) and fuel cells with a 48-liter hydrogen cylinder. Thanks to the new filling, the power reserve has increased from 150 to 300 kilometers.
As conceived by the creators, for city trips, the modified EL Lad wagon can only be charged from the outlet, and hydrogen can be used for long-distance travel. It is already planned to install new hydrogen cylinders on the prototype to increase the range to 650-800 kilometers.
- Now the company "Electric Transportation Technologies" is going to test the prototype EL Lad for technology debugging. With the emergence of interest from customers, the developers are ready to launch the production of commercial vehicles with a hydrogen-electric power plant within a year.
Production of the original EL Lad station wagon began in 2012. During the year, AvtoVAZ produced 100 electric vehicles that were used in trial operation and for test drives in dealerships of the brand.
