Rosstandart has published documents for the new generation Russian-built Hyundai Sonat sedan, revealing a set of power units available to us. In the summer, a Korean-made model was certified, but it never went on sale.

The sonata on the Russian market will be offered with two gasoline atmospheric engines to choose from - a two-liter with a capacity of 150 hp. (192 Nm), which was installed on the previous generation model, as well as with the new 2.5-liter. The latter develops 179 hp. (232 Nm) and runs on AI-92 gasoline, while the base power unit is certified for AI-95.
- Both engines are mated only to the six-speed automatic transmission, borrowed from the previous generation model. The drive type is front-wheel drive, and the available wheel sizes are from 16 to 18 inches.
- The new Sonata will be produced by the Ellada Intertrade company, which is a subdivision of the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. The enterprise also manufactures many other Hyundai models for the Russian market.
- The marketing authorization went into effect on October 22, but Hyundai has not yet officially announced a start date for accepting orders for the new-generation Sonat sedan.
