Jaguar has unveiled the electric Vision Gran Turismo Coupe and, as the name suggests, it was created for the Gran Turismo Sport racing simulator. Although it is designed only for the virtual world, the car has many interesting features.
As conceived by the creators, the virtual coupe is based on a monocoque made of carbon and aluminum, with external panels made of experimental lightweight materials. Also, the model has an adjustable wing, completely carried out outside the body.
- The hypercar with a futuristic design was the first Jaguar model to feature the Jaguar Jumping emblem on the front - on current production cars, it is installed only in the back, and on the front there is only an animal head.
- The interior surprises with the absence of seats; instead, the floor is molded for the driver and passenger. There are head-up displays with augmented reality on the glass - they highlight road obstacles and dangerous objects. In the center of the front panel is a cat-headed holographic assistant named KITT-E. It is designed to assist the driver in controlling the vehicle's systems.
The model, with a curb weight of 1400 kilograms and with an ideal 50:50 suspension, is equipped with three electric motors - one on the front axle and two on the rear. The total power is 1,020 hp. (1200 Nm). The virtual hypercar can accelerate from zero to 100 km / h in less than two seconds, and its top speed exceeds 320 km / h.
- For lovers of antiquity, Jaguar has digitized the sound of the 3.8-liter inline-six fitted to the racing D-Type - it won the 1957 24 Hours of Le Mans marathon. Thanks to this, you can drive an electric car to the sound of a gasoline engine.
The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupe will be available to racing sim players in November 2019. You don't have to wait for the model in the series.
