For The First Crossover Genesis Prepared Three New Engines

Hyundai held a technical conference where they talked about the development of new engines. As it became known to The Korean Car Blog, they will receive the Genesis GV80 - the first crossover of the premium Korean brand.

• Genesis GV80 will be equipped with a three-liter inline six-cylinder turbodiesel with a capacity of 278 hp. at 588 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a urea injection system for cleaner emissions, while the new engine is 32 kilograms lighter than the previous 260-horsepower 3.0 V6, which does not have this technology.

• The rest of the turbo engines are gasoline. This is a 2.5-liter "four" with a capacity of about 280 hp, as well as a 3.5 V6 with a return of 380 hp. (530 Nm). They are equipped with a combined fuel injection system.
• Under the hood of the Genesis GV80, the new engines will be installed longitudinally and combined with an eight-speed "robot" with two clutches. The all-wheel drive transmission, as in the sedans of the luxury brand, is equipped with a front axle coupling.

It is expected that the premiere of the production Genesis GV80 will take place before the end of 2019. The crossover will go on sale in 2020.
