Subaru Levorg Prototype Announced The Appearance Of A New Turbo-box

Subaru has brought the second-generation Levorg station wagon to the Tokyo Motor Show, which will be the first among other models of the brand to receive a new 1.8-liter turbocharged boxer engine with direct injection. While the novelty is listed in the status of a prototype, and its technical characteristics are not disclosed.

• Like all recent Subaru models, the new Levorg is built on the SGP (Subaru Global Platform) global modular architecture. Ultra-high-strength steel is used in the platform structure, which has increased the torsional rigidity of the body compared to the first generation model.

• Deep toning indicates the station wagon's interior is not yet ready for public display. But Subaru talked about the Levorg electronic assistants. It will receive a new generation EyeSight security complex, in which four radars will be added to a stereo camera with an increased viewing angle. This should improve the performance of the adaptive cruise control, the autobrake system and the lane departure warning assistant.
• In addition, the navigation system with high-definition maps will begin to interact with the adaptive cruise control. Thanks to this, the car will be able to detect sharp turns in advance and adjust its speed to them.

The second generation Subaru Levorg will go on sale in the second half of 2020. Like its predecessor, the new station wagon will only be offered in Japan and Europe.
