Video: GAZ Patented A New Pobeda Logo
The Gorky Automobile Plant registered the Pobeda trademark with Rospatent. The documents also found an image of the new logo.
- The new "Victory" emblem uses the same font as the logos of the latest commercial models of the brand, for example Gazelle NN. The certificate covers a wide range of product groups: cars, spare parts, accessories and various equipment.
- The GAZ Group again began to own the Pobeda trademark only at the end of 2009: the company did not renew the rights to it in the 1990s, so it had to buy out the brand from St. Petersburg businessman Pavel Andreev. In the spring of 2019, the Hartung company tried to take the right to the name Pobeda from GAZ, citing the fact that it had not been used for a long time, but the court refused to satisfy the requirements.
The name "Pobeda" was carried by the five-door fastback M-20, produced by the Gorky Automobile Plant from 1946 to 1958. A total of 241,497 copies of the model were assembled, including 14,222 convertibles with soft top and 37,492 cars prepared for taxi use.
