The American company AM General, which created the Humvee army all-terrain vehicle and its civilian version of the Hummer H1, prepared the Jeep Gladiator for service in the armed forces. The pickup in the XMT version has received a number of improvements, allowing it to perform various military tasks.

- The Gladiator XMT, created in conjunction with Jeep, has received the reinforced components required for military vehicles. The basic version is equipped with power bumpers, a kenguryatnik, a winch, wheels with off-road tires, radio antennas, a tubular frame instead of conventional doors, as well as special seats. AM General also made a version with a closed body.
-
AM General will offer the Jeep Gladiator XMT with all engines available for the civilian model: a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 petrol with 289 hp. (353 Nm) and a three-liter V6 turbodiesel, which produces 264 hp. (599 Nm).
- Of the off-road chips, the standard Gladiator in the top version of the Rubicon is equipped with special axles, a lowering row in the transmission, locks for the front and rear differentials, and an openable front stabilizer bar to increase suspension travel.
- AM General says the pickup can be used as a mobile command post, for communications or for transporting personnel. Jeep Gladiator XMT will begin production in the second half of 2020 with orders from the US Army or other countries.
