The New Isuzu D-Max Has Become More Powerful And Safer

Isuzu introduced the third generation D-Max. The pickup retained the frame architecture, but at the same time received a stronger body, a modified engine and new equipment.

• The "third" D-Max was the first model built on the Isuzu Dynamic Drive platform. The frame and body with additional reinforcements are lighter and stronger by increasing the proportion of high- and ultra-high-strength steels from 30 to 46 percent.
• The base 150-horsepower 1.9 turbodiesel remained unchanged. The three-liter engine, with which the predecessor is sold in Russia, received a new turbine with variable geometry and a number of other improvements - the power increased from 177 hp. (430 Nm) up to 190 hp (450 Nm). Motors are combined with a six-speed "mechanics" and "automatic".
• The front suspension got new levers, which made it possible to increase the angle of rotation of the wheels. Drum brakes at the rear gave way to disc brakes on all trim levels.
• Four-wheel drive is made according to the previous scheme with a rigid connection of the front axle. The modified razdatka quickly switches between the regular and lowered transmission range, and an electromagnetic rear differential lock appeared at the rear. The fording depth has increased from 600 to 800 millimeters.

• The equipment of the new D-Max includes LED optics, keyless entry, a multimedia system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a nine-inch monitor, dual-zone climate control, six airbags, a system for monitoring blind spots and rear cross-traffic.

Sales of the Isuzu D-Max in Thailand, where the model is manufactured, will start on October 19. The cost of a pickup truck is 510,000 - 1,164,000 baht (1.08-2.46 million rubles). Plans for the appearance of new items in other markets have not yet been made public.
