Volvo Electric Crossover Will Receive Multimedia On Android

Volvo has revealed the interior of the brand's first electric crossover. It will be the XC40 compact crossover, so the interior will hardly differ from the versions with internal combustion engines. The only difference is the digital instrument cluster and the new multimedia system - for the first time on a Volvo model, it runs on the Android system.

• Multimedia with Android HMI from Google and a nine-inch monitor is able to update "over the air" and supports all major Google services, including personal assistant Google Assistant, Google Maps mapping service and the Google Play Store.

• Now in the electric XC40 and all the following Volvo innovations, you can use your voice assistant to control smart home systems and install new apps adapted for cars, such as the streaming service Spotify. Also, the new multimedia system will receive information from Google Maps about current speed limits and traffic jams.
• The proprietary Volvo On Call remote control system will not go anywhere either. With its help, through a smartphone, you can check the location of the electric vehicle and the level of charge of the traction battery, turn on the heating or cooling of the passenger compartment.

The electric Volvo XC40 will officially premiere on October 16. It is already known that the compact crossover will receive two trunks - the front one with a volume of 30 liters is designed to store charging cables. Also, the creators of the model called it one of the safest cars that will meet on the road.
