Video: Driving License In Russia Will Be Allowed To Show From A Smartphone
In Russia, it is planned to legalize an electronic copy of a driver's license, which will be stored on the driver's smartphone. The head of the traffic police Mikhail Chernikov told about this in an interview with the TASS agency.
- Now the State Traffic Inspectorate is working on the creation of an electronic driver's license with its subsequent integration into a smartphone. It will become an alternative to standard plastic rights, which will not be abandoned yet. The department suggests that the current format of the certificate will be used only when traveling to other countries.
- Earlier it was reported that the transition to electronic driver's licenses will occur in Russia in 2020. However, now Mikhail Chernikov did not name the exact timing of their implementation.
The traffic police also proposed to the government to allow challenging the results of exams for passing a driver's license if there are complaints about illegal actions of the examiner. Thus, it is planned to make the process of conducting tests more objective. And the city "part" of the exam at the State Traffic Inspectorate wants to complicate: a unique route will be determined by the examiner in the process of passing, and not run along predetermined streets, as it is now.
