The first production Hyundai pickup will receive a frame structure, and Kia is also involved in its development, which will release its own version of the model. This was stated by the head of the Australian office of Hyundai John Kett in a conversation with the publication Which Car.
- The pickups will be based on a ladder frame. The main competitors - Ford Ranger and ToyotHilux - are equipped with this design. Korean pickups will receive modifications with both one-axle and all-wheel drive, and several more cab options.
According to John Kett, the early stages of pickup truck development are now coming to an end. Their design has already been approved along with the layout of the main units. But even the approximate date of the premiere of frame Hyundai and Kion did not name.
Hyundai's only pickup truck debuted as a concept called SantCruz back in 2015. The show car was equipped with a two-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 190 hp. (406 Nm).
