Ki is dissatisfied with the sales results of the large liftback Stinger. As the head of the Frankfurt design studio of the brand, Gregory Guillaume, told the Australian publication Car Advice, the brand's management plans to revise the concept of the model.
- Ki was most targeted at the North American market. For eight months of 2018, 11,624 Stingers were sold on the continent, and for the same period of this year - already 9435 cars. In Australia, sales of the model are only half of the planned volume. 1058 KiStinger copies were found in Russia this year.
According to Gregory, the model's unimportant positions are associated with its price: few people are willing to pay a large sum for a Ki liftback - in Australia it is at least 50,490 local dollars (2.2 million rubles). However, the designer believes that the Stinger is a very important model for the brand in terms of prestige, and it must be preserved at all costs.
- When asked about Stinger's future, Gregory Guillaume suggested that in the next generation, the model could be turned into an electric car. But the idea of completely abandoning Stinger production in Ki is also under discussion.
In Russia, KiStinger is offered with a two-liter turbo engine in 197 and 247 hp versions, as well as a 370-horsepower 3.3-liter V6 with two turbines. All units are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Drive type - rear or full. The price of the car is from 2 074 900 rubles.
