New Skoda Octavia And Rapid: Dates Of Appearance In Russia

The Skod company will begin sales in Russia of the updated Rapid liftback and the new generation of the Octavi model in 2020. The head of the Russian division of the brand, Jan Prochazka, told Motor1 about this.

• In the spring of 2020, sales of the Rapid liftback will start, which will undergo a second update. Nothing is known about the model changes yet. The next generation Rapid will appear at the end of 2021. It will be based on the MQB-A0 platform from the European SkodScala hatchback. It is also possible that after the generation change, the model will have a new name.

• As for the Octavia, the world premiere of the new generation will take place on November 11, 2019, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the model. And the novelty will reach Russia at the end of 2020, and it will be immediately localized at the facilities of the GAZ Group in Nizhny Novgorod.
• The new SkodOctavi will be available as a liftback and station wagon. With the change of generation, both modifications will grow in size and receive regular headlights, a two-spoke steering wheel and several large monitors.

• Back in early 2020, the SkodKaroq crossover will appear on the Russian market, which will be assembled at the same plant as Octavia. Production of the compact SUV, which replaced the Yeti, will begin this fall.
